The side effects of some of Susan's medication are apathy, and depersonalization. I think this has a large part to do with why she seems to forget from one day to the next important things we talk about.

It's taken me 20 years to come to terms with this. Everyone wants to act or believe that Susan's epilepsy only affects us when she has a seizure. I can understand that they are violent and scary, and as we learned can be deadly. Meredith is mortified by them because she seen them and is afraid that she may have epilepsy as well. It's understandable that she tried to downplay her mom's epilepsy. Her parents seem to want to act like her condition isn't as bad as it is. They are completely insensitive to the fact that her medication and or her condition make it very difficult or nearly impossible for me to count on her for anything beyond simple errands and chores.
I need to trust God.
Work on becoming more aware of her limitations.
Do things on my own.
Learn to live with and except her parents insensitivity to how her condition truly affects and handicaps our family.
