"It feels as though we’re in the midst of a revolution. Over half of UK youth <a href="http://www.dazeddigital.com/artsandculture/article/25945/1/half-of-young-people-dont-identify-as-straight">do not identify</a> as straight, a lot of Grindr users say that they <a href="http://www.dazeddigital.com/artsandculture/article/26006/1/a-lot-of-grindr-users-aren-t-actually-gay">aren’t gay</a> and earlier this summer, <a href="http://www.dazeddigital.com/music/article/25947/1/miley-cyrus-opens-up-about-body-dysmorphia">Miley Cyrus</a> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2015/06/12/no-miley-cyrus-is-not-bisexual/">refused</a> to label her sexuality.
The latest person to lend their name to the new wave is 16-year old model and actress Lily-Rose Depp, daughter of Johnny. iO Tillett Wright is a self-styled "artist, social scientist and photographer" and a friend of the model whose project is <a target="_blank" href="http://www.selfevidentproject.com/about"><em>Self Evident Truths</em></a>, a campaign to take the photo of 10,000 people who identify as anything other than 100 per cent straight.
"This project exists to spread awareness and understanding about a broader spectrum of human sexuality," she says. "We want to bring human stories from within the LGBTQ community to the world, so that we can begin to erase the boundaries between “Gay”, “Trans”, “Straight”, and “Other”."
