Rock-Seared Steak (Atesh)
Grilling or roasting large hunks of meat to eat on their own is somewhat of a rarity, since Au'Kael have to make use of as much as possible, stretching protein with other ingredients. But Atesh is considered a special dish, and will often be one of the center-pieces of any AU'Kael dinner.
It is large, prime cuts of animal proteins, simply seasoned and seared. The seasoning is notable in the inclusion of Khave (coffee) grounds, giving it a very particular flavor.
The cooking method involves heating a large flat stone or metal surface to very high heat, and placing the very thick cut of meat on it. The hunk of meat is typically far too large and thick to cook all the way through in time, so what is done is that each individual uses their own knifves to cut off small, bite-sized portions, searing it to their liking, and eating the piece.
