Glass Daggers

Traditional knives and daggers made from knapped pieces of glass. The skill of weilding and throwing these objects is considered the closest thing to a martial art the Au’Kael have. And while mostly ceremonial, the carrying of such daggers is seen as a great mark of respect. It is customary that you do not have the right to carry them unless someone else gifts one to you first, signifying a sense of friendship and respect. In modern times, the Glasswrights have begun making knives form melting and casting vitraeite shards, often mixing in chemicals to help make the glass more like a very strong, durrable ceramic. These have become quite popular for practical purposes, but traditional knapped blades are still seen as preferable for ornamental and ceremonial purposes.
