Salep
The word “salep” describes an ingredient, the plant that it is made from, and a class of desserts made from it. Salep Flour is made from the dried, crushed root of the Salep Plant, a flowering plant found wild and cultivated throughout the Veldt. This flour has a faintly sweet and nutty flavor, and is used as a thickener in sweet drinks and puddings, which are collective referred to as “Salep” or “Sha’loop”. Popular flavoring additives include ground roasted Qerrus Acorns, assorted spices, Saffron, and Blossom Water.
