Foothills/Uplands

The south and southeastern parts of the Veldt, where the grasslands rise to hug the lower reaches of the Kael Mountains. The area is characterized by rolling hills, with countless small, mostly seasonal stream beds. It is much more wooded, with Qerrus groves a frequent sight. Many small villages and farmsteads are found here, some populated by Au’Kael, some by other birds. Their produce is sold mostly to Afyon and traveling bands, as is slate and building stone quarried in the region. The foothills are regular stops for bands during their travels, particularly in the fall and winter, given the greater resources there.
