The county has teamed up with PG's Cafe and 'Katie's Koats' for a month-long campaign to provide coats to vets that need protection from the bitter cold.
It was all started by by Kaitlyn Drobner after an inspiring trip to New York City.
"I see all these homeless people on the streets and some of them have signs that say, I'm a vet, I have nothing to eat, no place to go and to me that breaks my heart," she said. "No one should be without a coat or a warm place to stay in the winter months or anytime of the year for that matter so this is just my way of giving back to say thank you for all the hard work they've put in."
Homeless and Travelers Aid Society, or HATAS, will help distribute the coats to veterans in need.
You can drop off a coat at 112 State Street, 162 Washington Avenue, or 175 Green Street in Albany. All Capital Region Best Cleaners locations are also collecting donations.
