Galaxy Cluster
- Confined to the galactic disk, galactic clusters, also known as open clusters, have an open appearance where individual stars can be observed.
- Examples include the Pleiades.
- Typically, galactic clusters contain fewer than 1,000 stars and have a diameter of less than approximately 10 parsecs.
- Recent near-infrared surveys have revealed more cluster members than previously known, and these clusters may be associated with interstellar gas and dust.
