Lance Hill Cemetery

Located 10 miles southwest of Cheney on the Lance Hill Road.

1962-06-01: A project that started 10 years ago has resulted in steady improvement of the appearance of the Lance Hill Cemetery. Descendants of Cheney area pioneers started the project in June 1952.

The burial place was just that until workers manned tools, made donations, and encouraged interested helpers. Each year since 1952, work days have been announced and workers have responded. Pride in the appearance of the cemetery has reached a new high as the result of this year's work day.

President of the Lance Hill Cemetery Association is Mrs. Leslie (Alice Calvert) Mill. Her great-grandparents are buried in the cemetery. Several of those resting in the cemetery came to the area by covered wagon.
