Casey's Store, aka Casey's Cash Store
J.D. Casey, owner
1932-02-12: J.D. Casey, owner of Casey's Store was painfully injured Tuesday when a Cheney-Spokane bus left the road two miles north of town during a snowstorm.
1934-09-04ish: J.D. Casey of Spokane has announced that he will re-enter business in Cheney in his former location on main street.
1935-08-30: A.B. Casey, proprietor of dry goods stores here and at Chewelah, announced this week his decision to discontinue his Cheney store. He will take over the Colville store formerly operated by a brother, Jess, who is forced to retire on account of ill health. Mr. Casey stated that while he has enjoyed a pleasant and profitable year's stay in Cheney, he decided to make the change because of the relative proximity of the Chewelah and Colville stores.
The present clearance sale will continue until September 14 as a removal sale, at which time Mr. Casey intends to move his stock to the new location. It is possible that Jess Casey may take over ownership of the Cheney location, although he will not actively manage it.
