The original owner of what was a saw mill on this site is uncertain. Ole C. Dybdall may have been among the developers of the saw mill.
1898-01-15: R.T. Johnstead sold his interest in the sawmill to O.C. Dibdell, and the new firm intends to put in a grist mill plant in the near future.
Mr. Dybdall acquired a good reputation for producing high quality flour and good service to his patrons.
1911-09-29: O.C. Dybdall, proprietor of the Rock Creek mill, has recently purchased a bran new automobile of the Sachacht make. It is an elegant machine and is built for both beauty and service. The family drove to Spokane in it last week without a mishap and made record-breaking time.
Son, Ole operated the grist mill until 1955, though there were those who said he would take care of some of the old-timers well after that.
