1959-02-13: Dr. Oscar E. Johnson, Cheney dentist, asked the Cheney City Council this week to issue a building permit for a $22,000 dental office on Third Street adjoining his home.

Dr. Johnson told the council that his present quarters in the offices of Dr. J.P. Caldwell and Dr. Wilfred Gamon, has become too small “since my son, Jim, entered the practice with me this year.”

The proposed building, he said, would have aluminum siding, corresponding to the home. The council approved the permit.
