Wings Pan opens their doors this week to the Cheney community, offering Korean BBQ bowls, chicken and other types of Korean food. Augy Park is the brain child of this new restaurant.
CHENEY – Cheney's food scene is about to get a boost with the opening of a new Korean BBQ restaurant this week in downtown.
Wings Pan, the brainchild of Augy Park, offers a menu featuring handcrafted Buffalo wings, Korean fried chicken, Bulgogi (Korean BBQ) bowls, and more.
"I have been developing the perfect chicken wings for two years," said Park, the owner of Wings Pan. Inspired by Buffalo Joe's in Chicago, known for its iconic wings that draw people from miles around, according to Park.
Park has been diligently perfecting his sauce recipes, testing them on friends and family until he was confident they were ready for the public.
Park's journey to opening Wings Pan hasn't been without its challenges. He initially tried launching a food truck in Puyallup but faced health department obstacles that forced him to put his dream on hold while he worked as a marketing executive.
"Early this year, things started to line up for me," Park shared. "There were a number of things that needed to be in place, and they started happening."
When he began searching for a restaurant location, Park found an ideal spot equipped with all the necessary cooking appliances, minimizing the need for extensive renovations. The only catch? The location was in Cheney, across the state from his home in Puyallup.
Fortunately, Park's remote job allows him the flexibility to move and manage his new venture while maintaining a steady income.
Park is confident that his menu, which includes Kalbi beef cut short ribs and chicken with various sauces like Pineapple Sunrise, lemon pepper, and maple ginger.
He explained that this will attract college students and lovers of authentic Korean BBQ alike. He is particularly excited about offering Chimac, a popular Korean street food comprising crunchy Korean fried chicken paired with a cold beer.
"As we grow, so will our menu," Park said. "I'll experiment with flavors based on what sells best."
Park just moved his family to Cheney and now has opened Wings Pan.
"Cheney residents can look forward to a new culinary experience that promises to bring the rich flavors of Korean cuisine," Park concluded.

2026-02-19: Dear Wings Pan family,
We will be pausing operations at our Cheney location as we prepare for the next phase of Wings Pan.
When our family moved from Western Washington to Cheney, it was a leap of faith. We came here with a vision — to build something meaningful through great food, hard work, and community. The support we’ve received has meant more than we can express. You welcomed us, encouraged us, believed in us, and helped Wings Pan become what it is today.
As our current lease approaches its conclusion, this is the right time to take the next step forward. This pause allows us to prepare for relocating into a space that better reflects the full experience we’ve always envisioned. We have much more to share — in our food, our culture, and the experience we aim to create — and doing that well requires a space with the capacity to expand our offerings and fully realize that vision.
We are deeply grateful for every guest who has supported us and believed in what we’re building. Because of you, we have the confidence to continue shaping Wings Pan into everything we know it can become.
We will remain open through Saturday, February 21st.
Thank you for your continued support as we move forward.
With gratitude,
Wings Pan
