Badger Lake

Pearl and Ora Ethell, had bought land at the west edge of Badger Lake in 1911. In 1914 they started the first resort on that lake.

1945-07-27 - Mr. and Mrs. Ora C. Ethell, who for more than 30 years have operated a resort on Badger lake, have exchanged their property for a farm 6 miles north of Spokane on Route 7. The Ethells have resided continually on the resort with the exception of a few winters spent in Cheney.

1947 - ???? - Rollie's Landing at Badger Lake - operated by Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Johnston.

1952-04-11: The resort on the east side of Badger Lake, owned and operated for some years by Mr. & Mrs. George Canady, has been sold to Mr. & Mrs. Roscoe Jones of Almira. The Canadys have purchased the Mullenix property on West Third in Cheney.

1952-09-26: Rollie’s Resort on Badger Lake narrowly escaped destruction by fire Sunday. The blaze burned over some 50 acres adjacent to the resort, and charred several picnic tables and small trees. Paint on the side of the resort building was scorched before the first firemen arrived. Amber, Chapman Lake, and Cheney sent trucks to the scene.

1953-04-10: Badger Resort Improvements Nearly Finished. Among the resort owners at nearby lakes who are getting ready for a fishing season is Ted Weeks of the Badger Lake Resort. He has a building program well under way and expects to have it completed by opening day, Sunday, April 19. Included in the building project are a new store. living quarters, and four new cottages. A new road to the landing has been completed. Also to be installed is a "loafing shed," a place for fishermen to get warm on chilly days. The resort is to be under the management of Mrs. Jeannette Bratton, who says the place now has telephone serve.

1955-05-13 - Lillian Heller, manager offers baby sitting for pre-school children for 25 cents per hour ($1.00 minimum)

1962-03-02 - Funeral services for William Fuller, age 49, owner of Fuller's Resort on Badger Lake were held on Wednesday.
