- Proverbs 29:11 A [shortsighted] fool always loses his temper and displays his anger, But a wise man [uses self-control and] holds it back.
- Holds what back?
- Anger
- Some people say that its dishonest to hide your feelings.
- Some people say that its unhealthy not to express your feelings.
- We'll find that the best place to vent your frustration is with a true, trusted friend.

- Holds what back?
- Psalms 37:7, 8 Be still before the Lord; wait patiently for Him and entrust yourself to Him; Do not fret (burn, be enflamed, agonize) because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. 8 Cease from anger and abandon wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evil.
- For believers:
- News media on both sides is fanning the flames of polarization.
- Both sides say the exact same things about eachother
- Both sides are afraid that the other side is winning.
- Both sides say the other side is evil and wants to "destroy democracy".
- Both sides say the exact same things about eachother
- There are indeed many things in our culture that need to be opposed.
- News media on both sides is fanning the flames of polarization.
- This verse and the ones that follow show us how we can oppose evil, and do it God's way.

- For believers:
- Psalms 62: 8 Trust [confidently] in Him at all times, O people; Pour out [spill out, shed] your heart before Him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.
- Isaiah 41:10 10 ‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’
- Lamentations 3:25-27 25 The Lord is good to those who wait [confidently] for Him, To those who seek Him [on the authority of God’s word]. 26 It is good that one waits quietly for the salvation of the Lord. 27 It is good for a man that he should bear The yoke [of godly discipline] in his youth.
- waits quietly? = wait patiently of Ps. 37:7
- Why should youth "bear the yolk"?
- Scriptural algebra...
- God's yolk = Jesus' yolk.
- Scriptural algebra...
- Ephesians 4:26 Be angry [at sin—at immorality, at injustice, at ungodly behavior], yet do not sin; do not let your anger [cause you shame, nor allow it to] last until the sun goes down.
- 27 And do not give the devil an opportunity
- Deal with anger/frustration sooner rather than later.
- Psalms 4:4 Be angry [or stand in awe, or tremble] and sin not; commune with your own hearts upon your beds and be silent
- Philippians 4: 6 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. 7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].
- James 1:19, 20 Understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Let everyone be quick to hear [be a careful, thoughtful listener], slow to speak [a speaker of carefully chosen words and], slow to anger [patient, reflective, forgiving]; 20 for the [resentful, deep-seated] anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God [that standard of behavior which He requires from us].
