ELCA Lutherans’ first Pastor of Public Witness: Fornication, profanity, and denying the cross
This is Nadia Bolz-Weber, a pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. She is a best-selling author and sought after speaker who frequently uses the “f” word. Bolz-Weber spoke to 31,000 Lutheran teenagers and, in a kind of a mock baptismal vow, had the teens repeat after her “I renounce the lie that queerness is anything other than beauty.” A few years ago the divorced Bolz-Weber talked on a podcast about how electrifying sex was with her boyfriend. Bolz-Weber gathered girls’ purity rings, melted them down into a vagina sculpture, and presented it to feminist Gloria Steinem as a thank-you gift. And, most tragically, Bolz-Weber denies that Jesus died in our place for our sins. She believes for God the Father to punish Jesus for our sins would be “divine child abuse.“
Did the ELCA discipline Bolz-Weber for this? No, the ELCA rewarded her by making her the ELCA’s first “Pastor of Public Witness”.
Yet another reason to run from this denomination.
In Jesus our Savior,
Pastor Tom Brock
