First drafts
Ernest Hemingway, a Pulitzer-prize winning author, once said, "The first draft of anything is a piece of shit." And it's true. Even after all this time writing, my first drafts are crap. And so are yours. However, first drafts are necessary and important. You have to get the story, essay, article, report, whatever down on paper so it can be shaped and molded into something more readable. This shaping is done through revisions.
Using the first draft as a finished product is insulting to anyone who has to read your crap.
