New concepts
I ofter get ideas about new concepts or ways to do things differently. These are difficult to implement because most people are confortable with the things are now and don't want to change.
So how do you go about convincing folks to accept a new or different way to do stuff? Recen;ty, I had an idea to get a bunch of authors from the Montclair Write Group to organize a author event to publicize our books. None of the authors had ever done something like this.
I drew a sketch of my idea/concept. Then I invited a bunch of authors who I knew to a zoom meeting. All of them are creative and talented. I showed them the sketch and explained my concept. Then I shut up and let them kick around the idea. Soon ideas on how to do the event started to come out. Other authors improved on the ideas. Pretty soon the group convinced themselves the concept was great and they all wanted to participate in the event and they all wanted to work on it to get going.
The key issue here is I didn't say anything about any of the idea. Neither good or bad. I just let the ideas flow without commenting on them. This is the essence of brainstorming. Let the group convince themselves they want to do it.
