There is ample space on the toolbar to add the options of the drop-down as option buttons. Then the Add/Create/Append button wouldn't be needed. Use the lightning button to execute the selected action. Remember that action and offer it as the default when the BrainBox button is clicked the next time.

That would save the long-winded explanations how the BrainBox works.
