Table of Contents
There are FREE website builders but they often put limitations that might annoy you and maybe are designed to get you to sign up to a paid plan. The most common of these limitations is an AD. Most website builders have an AD somewhere. These ads range from pretty bad to tolerable.
SQUARE online FREE - is the best website builder
They don't limit features. Includes tons of ecommerce features on FREE plans.
- Unlimited products, Appointment scheduling, curbside pickup, Apple Pay, Digital Products, Instagram Shops; Gift Cards; Shipping Calculators ... and more.
- The credit card processing fee is the same fee you have on most paid plans. 2.9% + 30 cents per transaction.
- Also provide customer support for FREE users including Phone Support. No other website builder does that.
- However it is easy to use but not super customizable, for example, you build pages by adding sections. Within that section you can toggle individual elements on or off. But you can't actually add any new elements. If you want more elements, you need to find a different section.
- Book Now button - Instagram Integration, Reserve with Google integration, Booking website QR code, SEO tools
- Square QR codes: Square hosts the landing page, so no website is needed.
- You can also connect your Instagram feed to your Square homepage. the next thing to do is ^happy
Included with every Square account:

WEBFLOW - If you would like to design your own theme from scratch
This is the best website builder/creator. Webflow gives you the flexibility of front-end code without actually requiring you to know how to code. Weflow includes a CMS in the FREE plan. Create an article and each article automatically gets its own page. Weblow does have a learning curve. finding the FREE plan is not super obvious. Scroll down the PRICING page and find the FREE starter plan. Then you are going to want to use the Staging Server**. You can choose this and they will host your website for free indefinitely. If you choose this plan, just know that webflow includes a small ad that scrolls alongside your website.
CARRD - one page websites - ideal for one page websites.
They only focus on one-page websites. Personal websites and landing pages.
Google Sites** - Is 100% Free, they don't even offer pay plans.
Two good reasons to use Google Sites. Unlike Square, Webflow and CARRD,
- GOOGLE SITES actually let you add a custom domain name. Yourwebsite.com Adding your own URL is not easy. You will definitely need to learn about DNS. Adding a custom domain name is way easier with Other website builders but that's only if you are on their paid plans.
- The second reason to use Google Sites is that they include a very small ad and it is more like a scrolling icon that the visitor has to hover for more information.
UCRAFT - Brilliant for sites that need their images to stand out.
You can create a multi-page website on their FREE plan (like Google Sites) ucraft seems to funnel you to a paid trial when you are trying to sign up for a FREE plan. Sometimes you can get a FREE plan and sometimes not. Also they intrude with a Big Ad that scrolls along which is just too intrusive.
Webnode - a basic website builder with great templates, and just a small AD on FREE websites.
- Limits FREE Sites to only One Gigabyte of bandwidth. When visitors visit your website they consume your bandwidth and one gigabyte of bandwidth doesn't get you very far.
WIX - No NOT RECOMMEND -
includes a big AD that scrolls on top of FREE websites. And long name sub-domain is too long. 500 MB bandwidth limit which is even lower than Webnode.
GoDaddy - Not Recommended has a large AD that scrolls along
and that is enough to not recommend them. Plus they Up-sell, up-sell, up-sell.
STRIKINGLY - the same thing as above. The AD is just too intrusive.
WordPress - Note: Wordpress.com is NOT Workpress.org
Wordpress.org is what most people think of when they hear Wordpress. Again the AD is just too intrusive.
