Why people with Parkinson’s are dancing at Stanford’s Neuroscience Health Center

Regular dancing has been shown to lead to significant decreases in salivary cortisol concentrations. Singing, dancing and drumming all trigger endorphin release (indexed by an increase in post-activity pain tolerance) in contexts where merely listening to music and low energy musical activities do not. Dancing increases endorphin levels - improves NK function - removes toxins from body.
