Biotoxin illness - it is more than just "mold"
Biotoxins are toxic substances that come from a biological source. They can be produced by: Fungi, Animals, Plants, Microorganisms.
Biotoxins can cause both acute and chronic toxic diseases. They serve as a biological defense and poison, which protects the toxin-producer from being consumed.
Some examples of biotoxins include:
- Mycotoxins, which are made by fungi
- Zootoxins, which are made by animals
- Phytotoxins, which are made by plants
- Saxitoxin, which is a small molecule
- Ricin, which is a large protein
Symptoms of biotoxins include:
- Appetite swings
- Difficulty regulating body temperature
- Increased urinary frequency
- Red eyes
- Blurred vision
- Mood swings
- Sweats
- Ice-pick pain
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhea
- Numbness
- Water eyes
- Disorientation
- Metallic taste in mouth
There are no antidotes for biotoxin poisoning. The only treatment for severe cases is to be placed on life support systems (such as a ventilator) until the toxin passes from your system
