Session 35 (25-30 min) Language Learning

• [Youth]: Say hello to your learner, then ask a few questions about how they are doing. (“How are you doing?” “How is your week going so far?” “Did you have a good day at school/university today?”)
• [Adults]: Say hello to your buddy, then ask a few questions about how they are doing. (“How is it going?” “How is your week going so far?” “Did you have a good day at work?” “Is there any news you would like to share?”)
• Ask your learner to greet you and ask you how you are doing.

• Tell your learner that in this session you will be talking about language learning
• Start with having fun and doing the quiz “Can you guess the country from the flag?”
• Then ask your learner how to say Hello in different languages. How many do you know together?

• Tell your learner that you are going to continue by speaking about language learning.
• Take turns answering the questions on the slides.

• Continue talking about stereotypes in language learning.
• Ask your learner to read these statements and say if they agree or disagree and justify their opinion. Share your opinion as well.

• Create a language learning app!
• Ask your learner to make a presentation about the language learning app they’ve come up with using the plan on the slide.
