Practicing constructing sentences with new vocabulary.

Pre-Session Instructions for Learner

In this session, you will talk about holidays.
To prepare, you can check out these slides. Make sure you understand all the words and practice answering the questions.
If you are going to have an asynchronous session, review the same slides and be ready to complete the tasks individually and send them over to your volunteer in voice messages/written format.

Timing	Instructions	Notes
0 min	Greet your learner, then ask a few questions about how they’re doing (“How are you doing?” “How are you?”). Ask your learner to greet you and ask you how you’re doing as well.	Show slide 2
8 min	Start by reviewing the names of common holidays and read sample sentences on the next slide. Make sure students understand all the words. Ask how students celebrate holidays in their country.	Show slides 3–5
10 min	Move on to discuss going to the sea and relevant vocabulary. Learn the words, read sample sentences, and answer the questions.	Show slides 6–10
7 min	Try to have students talk about what they are looking forward to for the holidays.	Show slide 11
5 min	Tell your learner that you will play a game where you will need to find 10 differences between two similar pictures. Work together with your learner to spot the differences between the pictures. Encourage your learner to use holiday-related vocabulary when describing the differences.	Show slide 12 Answer key:
