Autoimmune (Sotzny, et al., 2018) and metabolic (Tomas and Newton, 2018) pathways appear to play key roles in the pathophysiology of ME/CFS (Theoharides, et al., 2004b), (Maes, et al., 2011), (Booth, et al., 2012)

Pathway abnormalities included sphingolipid, phospholipid, purine, cholesterol, microbiome, pyrroline-5-carboxylate, riboflavin, branch chain amino acid, peroxisomal, and mitochondrial metabolism
