<p>Cortisol acts via a negative feedback mechanism mediated by mineralocorticoid receptor MR and glucocorticoid receptor GR in the hypothalamus and GR in the anterior pituitary, which ultimately causes a decrease in secretion of CRH, AVP, and ACTH.</p>
