CONSTABULARY NOTICE – BARONY SHOTARK

Case Reference: SHT–PONT–117

Location: Southern Pont Crossing, Lake Shotark

Date of Incident: 14th Day of High Summer

Deceased: Lerric Vaun (male, approx. 32–38 years), itinerant intermediary, no fixed residence

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT

On the above date, the deceased was observed traversing the Pont crossing over Lake Shotark. Multiple witnesses report that the individual halted abruptly, displayed signs of acute physical distress, and collapsed within a short interval.

No assailant was identified at the scene.

The body was recovered within minutes of collapse and transported under seal to the Barony offices for examination.

WITNESS STATEMENTS (ABRIDGED)

Witnesses consistently report:

• Sudden onset of respiratory distress
• Attempts to vocalize or call for assistance
• Visible agitation and loss of coordination
• Collapse occurring within approximately half a minute

No external weapon, projectile, or overt mechanism of assault was observed.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION

Findings:

• No external trauma sufficient to explain cause of death
• Minor abrasions consistent with collapse on stone surface
• Oral cavity exhibited trace presence of unidentified particulate residue (greenish-grey in tone)
• Upper respiratory tract showed acute and rapid tissue degradation inconsistent with known corrosives
• No evidence of thermal injury, common toxins, or mechanical obstruction

Conclusion (Provisional):

Death most likely resulted from acute internal failure of the respiratory system, potentially induced by ingestion or exposure to an unknown alchemical agent.

Further classification remains inconclusive.

NOTES

• No container, delivery mechanism, or source of substance was recovered
• No known alchemical compound currently registered produces effects identical to those observed
• Time to fatality estimated at under one minute from onset of symptoms

The Barony of Shotark seeks reliable information regarding:

• The movements of Lerric Vaun in the 48 hours prior to death
• Any persons observed in close proximity to the deceased prior to collapse
• Any knowledge of unregistered alchemical substances capable of inducing rapid internal failure
