HUMILITY

July 19, 2025, 2:58 PM

"Humility is required to admit that there are things one cannot know or believe in; it requires courage to have faith in the Great Mystery." (see endnote #22, page 355:

"When the great psychologist Carl Jung was asked in a television interview whether he believed in GOD, he replied, "NO. Why should I believe? I KNOW!" To know GOD is to trust GOD and to be open to HER guidance. In Judeo-Christian terms, trust means understanding GOD as the Great I AM, as pure being without attribute. Not I am this or I am that just I AM. Moses asks GOD HER name, and GOD replies, "I AM THAT I AM." Jesus was a master of paradox and often used paradox to shock his listeners into expanded statesof awareness. He recalls GOD's holiest name and expresses his identity with this name when he says, "Before Abraham ever was, I AM." (John 8:58).

"The South reminds us to have faith. Faith is different from intellectual belief. It requires that we TRUST that which cannot be described. The trouble with descriptions is that w often tend to substitute them for experiences."

"The word stone is not the same as the experience of seeing or holding a stone."
