1. Input into the change management process are defined(May include a business case.charter, scope,or plan).
The Prosci Methodology is not designed to help you decide what to change. The application of the Prosci Methodology is based on the assumption that the senior leaders of an organization have defined why a change is required and what needs to change. The Prosci Methodology is not designed to determine if the change is the right change, for the right reason at the right time. It is also not designed to develop the technical solution for a specific issue or opportunity.
To apply the Prosci Methodology, the inputs to the change management process need to be defined. The inputs are typically documented in a business case or project charter that answers the following questions:
- What is the project?
- Why is the project needed (issues and opportunities)?
- How will the project solve a problem or address an opportunity facing the organization?
- What is the recommended solution?
- What are the risks to the organization if the issues and opportunities are not addressed?
- When will the solution be implemented?
- How much money, people and time will be needed to deliver the solution and realize the benefits?
