5/8/2020 For many people, one of the best ways to get our heads around something is to visualize it. There are a variety of great websites on the internet with huge collections of figures and tables that can help us visualize all kinds of things. Statista.com is one, but much of their material is paywalled. Our World in Data is another, and it is all open-access. We've included a limited about of Statista.com information in this Core Knowledge Brain, but we've included some 400 links to Our World in Data information. You'll see a lot of it spread out around the Core Knowledge Brain, but you can also see ALL of it organized under the "Other Resources" section of the Core Knowledge Brain.
4/30/2020 This Core Knowledge Brain pulls together lots of kinds of information, but perhaps the most unusual are the links into Jerry's Brain. Jerry's Brain uses the same software used in this Core Knowledge Brain, but Jerry's Brain represents many years of work to organize all kinds of information. You can find out more by clicking on the Other Resources thought pinned to the top of your screen, and then on "Jerry's Brain." We've linked to almost 100 places in Jerry's Brain. Those links are spread around the Core Knowledge Brain, and they are also all gathered together in the Other Resources section.
4/20/2020 We've supplemented the topics in this External Brain with the ability to instantly search a number of social media sites based on keywords relevant to this External Brain. You'll see these pre-populated search terms at the very beginning of topical Mini-Brains, allowing you to quickly search sites like Google, Google Scholar, Quora.com, Reddit, and more. We've also linked directly to relevant Facebook and LinkedIn groups, allowing you to survey what's happening in those groups (you may have to become a member). Note that as described in this very short video, if you've downloaded this External Brain you can carry out all of these searches in seconds, without having to leave the External Brain. If you're accessing the External Brain on-line, you'll still be working exclusively with URLs that open up in new browser Tabs.
