🔮 ABOUT THE SERIES
Promethea is an award-winning occult fantasy comic created by Alan Moore and J. H. Williams III, exploring the boundaries between imagination, mythology, magic, and reality.
The story follows Sophie Bangs, a college student living in a futuristic New York City in 1999. While researching a mysterious literary figure named Promethea, Sophie discovers that the legendary heroine is far more than a fictional character.
Promethea is a living embodiment of imagination, capable of manifesting through different human hosts across history.
When Sophie becomes the newest incarnation, she enters a hidden world of magic, ancient symbolism, gods, demons, and metaphysical dimensions.
What begins as a supernatural superhero adventure gradually develops into an elaborate exploration of Hermeticism, the Kabbalah, Tarot, alchemy, comparative religion, and the nature of human consciousness.
Central to the narrative is the Immateria, a realm of ideas and imagination where myths, stories, and archetypes exist independently of physical reality.
Through extraordinarily intricate artwork and experimental storytelling, Moore and Williams transform the series into a philosophical journey through the structure of existence itself.

Traveling across its ten Sephiroth, they encounter symbolic manifestations of gods, angels, historical figures, and fundamental aspects of human consciousness.
Each realm represents a different spiritual principle, gradually revealing the interconnected structure of existence.
