🌑 ABOUT THE SERIES

B.P.R.D. (Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense) is an epic supernatural horror series created by Mike Mignola and developed primarily by John Arcudi, exploring the secret organization responsible for investigating and combating paranormal threats across the world.

Following Hellboy's departure from the Bureau, its remaining agents must confront increasingly dangerous supernatural phenomena without their most powerful ally.

The principal team includes Abe Sapien, an amphibious humanoid with a mysterious past; Liz Sherman, a pyrokinetic capable of unleashing catastrophic fire; Johann Kraus, a disembodied psychic consciousness; Roger, an artificial homunculus; and numerous human investigators.

What begins as a series of occult investigations gradually transforms into an enormous apocalyptic narrative involving ancient civilizations, secret Nazi experiments, monstrous frog creatures, extradimensional entities, and the awakening of the primordial Ogdru Jahad.

Combining Lovecraftian cosmic horror with military science fiction, mythology, occult detective fiction, and personal tragedy, the series follows humanity's increasingly desperate struggle against forces older than civilization itself.

The complete main saga consists of three connected cycles:

01 · Plague of Frogs — The beginning of the supernatural epidemic.

02 · Hell on Earth — The global collapse of human civilization.

03 · The Devil You Know — The final confrontation and Ragna Rok.
