📖 ABOUT THE SERIES

Tomorrow Stories is an award-winning comic book anthology created by Alan Moore for his America's Best Comics imprint.

Inspired by the classic American comic books of the 1940s and 1950s, the series combines absurd science fiction, superhero parody, detective mysteries, surreal comedy, and experimental visual storytelling.

Rather than following a single narrative, each issue presents several independent short stories featuring recurring characters, with each character developed by Moore in collaboration with a different artist.

The anthology received the 2000 Eisner Award for Best Anthology and became one of the most playful and inventive publications in Moore's America's Best Comics line.

🎭 THE FIVE ORIGINAL FEATURES

JACK B. QUICK

Alan Moore · Kevin Nowlan

A brilliant but dangerously irresponsible young scientist living in the quiet rural town of Queerwater, Kansas.

Jack's bizarre inventions and experiments turn ordinary scientific principles into absurd disasters, often threatening his family, neighbors, and the laws of physics themselves.

Genre: Absurdist Science Fiction · Comedy

GREYSHIRT

Alan Moore · Rick Veitch

A mysterious masked crimefighter operating in the noir-inspired streets of Indigo City.

Drawing inspiration from Will Eisner's The Spirit, these stories explore crime, corruption, secret identities, and urban mythology through inventive visual compositions.

Genre: Crime Noir · Pulp Detective Fiction

THE FIRST AMERICAN & U.S.ANGEL

Alan Moore · Jim Baikie

An outrageous parody of patriotic American superheroes and the excesses of popular culture.

The First American and his partner U.S.Angel stumble through ridiculous adventures involving celebrity culture, political absurdities, consumerism, and superhero conventions.

Genre: Superhero Satire · Social Comedy

THE COBWEB

Alan Moore · Melinda Gebbie and guest artists

A mysterious and glamorous masked adventurer whose stories explore sexuality, fantasy, identity, and the conventions of classic pulp heroines.

The feature blends elegant retro aesthetics with surrealism, provocative humor, and psychological themes.

Genre: Surreal Fantasy · Pulp Mystery

SPLASH BRANNIGAN

Alan Moore · Hilary Barta

A sentient mass of living ink who escapes from the world of forgotten comic book artwork.

Able to transform his body into virtually any shape, Splash creates outrageous situations involving cartoon logic, visual gags, and the very nature of comic book storytelling.

Genre: Metafiction · Cartoon Comedy · Fantasy
