Thank you for writing in, both of the things you’re describing are controlled by settings or context, so it’s very likely nothing has been lost permanently.

To make sure I give you the correct steps, I just need to confirm a few details first:

1. Which version are you using?
   • TheBrain 14 or TheBrain 15
   • And if it’s version 15, which build number
2. Does this affect:
   • All thoughts, or only certain ones?
   • Only notes, or also outlines?
3. If possible, could you please send a couple of screenshots:
   • One showing a thought where the AI button is missing in the notes area
   • One showing the bottom of the notes where the mentioned links section used to appear

The screenshots don’t need to include any sensitive content, they just help confirm which view and layout you’re currently in.

Regarding the two items you mentioned:

For the AI button in the notes section, this can disappear if AI has been turned off or restricted in settings. In version 15, this is controlled under Settings → AI, where AI can be disabled entirely or set to only appear under certain conditions.

For the section at the bottom of notes that shows mentioned links and references, its visibility depends on the current view and configuration. In some cases it can be hidden, collapsed, or disabled as part of layout or panel settings, especially in version 15.
