Thank you for the thoughtful message, and it’s great to hear how you’re using TheBrain in your work.

On the note headers, the current behavior is expected. TheBrain does not retain the expanded or collapsed state of headers when you leave and return to a note, so it will default to fully expanded each time.

On the timestamp, you’re correct that CTRL + D inserts the full date and time. There isn’t currently a built-in shortcut to insert just the time by itself.

Both of these are excellent suggestions, especially for the workflow you described. If you haven’t already, I’d recommend posting them on our feature request site so they can be tracked and voted on:
