Markdown: Copy Formatting not working in latest Beta #98959

Hello Ulrich,

Thank you for checking in. I can confirm that “Copy Formatting” is only intended for use inside TheBrain’s own notes editor. It copies the internal formatting rules so you can apply the same style to other text within the same note.

For exporting text to another application such as Typora or Obsidian, you should use a normal copy (Ctrl+C / Cmd+C). This copies the content with HTML formatting, which external editors can interpret if they support HTML or styled paste. Markdown tags themselves are not generated by the Copy Formatting command, so they won’t appear when using it.

If you find a case where a regular copy from the notes editor does not preserve formatting in an application that normally accepts styled text, feel free to send a small example and I can take a closer look.
