v15 Update Installer Cannot Close TheBrain #100602

Thank you for reporting this.

I understand the issue: the updater or installer says TheBrain must be closed before installation can continue, but even after closing it from Task Manager and clicking Retry, it still says TheBrain is open or appears to reopen TheBrain.

As a workaround, please try downloading the Windows installer directly and running it manually:

https://thebrain.com/download-windows-update?v=15.0.556.0

Before running the installer, please fully close TheBrain. Then open Task Manager and end any remaining TheBrain processes before starting the installer again.

If the issue continues, please send us a few details so we can review what is happening:

• Are you updating from inside TheBrain, or did you download the installer manually?

• What version of TheBrain are you updating from?

• What version is the updater trying to install?

• Are you on Windows 10 or Windows 11?

• Does the installer actually reopen TheBrain by itself, or does it only keep detecting that TheBrain is still running?

• Please send a screenshot of the installer message

• Please send the Output.log file from:

%LocalAppData%\TheBrain\Logs\Output.log

If possible, a short screen recording showing the update attempt would also be helpful.
