Question about different versions #95649
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out and for providing details about your current setup! I’m happy to clarify your questions:
- Using TheBrain 11: You’re correct - using TheBrain 11 shouldn’t be a problem, as it can sync up with the cloud and allow you to create and edit entries. However, you may notice that you’re missing some of the newer features and enhancements introduced in versions 12, 13, and 14. If you’re happy with the current functionality, you can continue using it without issue.
- Upgrading to Version 14: No, you don’t need to “climb the tree” by upgrading to version 12 or 13 first. You can upgrade directly to version 14 from version 11. Simply download TheBrain 14 from our website, install it on your MacBook, and log in to your account. Your existing Brains will sync seamlessly.
- Running TheBrain on Multiple Devices: Running TheBrain on multiple devices, such as a desktop at home, a desktop at a second home, and a laptop, is perfectly fine. As long as you’re only using one device at a time, your subscription and syncing capabilities will work without any issues. TheBrain is designed to accommodate multiple devices, ensuring you can access your Brains wherever you are.
Since you are already subscribed to the Pro Combo, you can jump between versions without any problem! :) Just note that this flexibility doesn’t apply if you plan to downgrade below version 8. We offer limited support for those versions as they are outdated.
If you have any further questions or need help with upgrading, feel free to let me know. I’d be happy to assist!
Best regards and happy holidays,
John
