Thank you for bringing this up.

The Link Selection as Children/Parents/Jumps of {Thought Name} options always refer to the active thought selected in the Plex. As long as you’re on the correct active thought, the links should be applied as expected. I understand how this can feel confusing when multiple thoughts have similar names (like dates).

If you’d like to suggest adding tooltips to display the full thought name when hovering over the context menu, I recommend posting this on our UserVoice platform here: https://thebrain.uservoice.com/. This helps our team evaluate and prioritize user-driven improvements.
