Emailing into the Brain #98290

https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/98290

Hello Chace,

Thank you very much for reaching out.

At the moment, TheBrain doesn’t support sending items directly via email into a Brain for all email providers. However, you can easily attach emails to thoughts using a few simple methods.

The most common way is drag-and-drop, which works smoothly with most email providers like Gmail.

If you’re using Outlook, recent changes to how Outlook encodes emails may prevent direct drag-and-drop into TheBrain. In that case, here’s a reliable workaround:

  1. Right-click the Thought where you want to attach the message.
  2. Select Add Attachment > Open Thought Folder.
  3. Drag the email directly into that folder.
    • If dragging from Outlook doesn’t work directly, first drag the email to your desktop, then drag it from there into the Thought folder.

Once the email file is in that folder, it will appear as an attachment in your Thought.

Let me know if you have any questions or if you’d like help with a specific mail app setup.

Best regards,

John
