Restored MacBook Brain / Cloud Version Is Newer #101137
https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/101137
Hello Ken,
Thank you for checking.
If the cloud version is more current than the restored local version, you should be fine as long as you do not make any new edits in the older local copy before syncing.
As an extra safety step, you can first make a Brain Archive backup of the restored local copy:
File > Backup to Brain Archive
That gives you a .brz backup just in case you need to refer back to the restored local copy later.
After that, open the Brain and run Sync before making any edits. The current cloud changes should come down to the restored Mac and bring the local copy up to date.
The important part is not to add, edit, delete, or reorganize anything in the restored local copy before that first sync completes. If you make local changes first, those changes could also be included in the sync.
You can also check the Brain in the Web Client first to confirm the cloud copy looks current:
Best regards,
John
