Images issue #99383
https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/99383
Hello Daniel,
Thank you for the clarification. That explains the behavior you’re seeing.
The Insert Image option expects an image URL (for example, a web address starting with http or https), not a local file path from your computer. When you copy an image “as path” or paste a local file path into the Insert Image dialog, TheBrain treats it as text, not as image data, which results in the placeholder icon instead of the image.
That’s why this works when you use Ctrl+V after copying the image itself, but not when pasting a local path into Insert Image.
To summarize the current behavior:
If you want to insert a local image into a note, copy the image itself and paste it directly into the note using Ctrl+V.
If you use Insert Image, it should be used with a web image URL (for example, an image hosted online), not a local file path.
The issue with transparent PNGs and right-click paste behaving inconsistently has been documented separately, but the specific behavior you described here is expected when a local path is used in the Insert Image field.
Thank you for sticking with this and for providing clear steps. Please let me know if anything remains unclear.
Best regards,
John
