Offline Brain Archive for Non TheBrain User #100554
https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/100554
Hello,
Yes, this is possible, but the recipient would still need to install TheBrain in order to open it. TheBrain does not create a standalone offline viewer file like a PDF or executable document.
The best option would be to create a Brain Archive file and place that on the USB/keydrive.
In TheBrain, you can do this by going to:
File > Back Up to Brain Archive
When creating the archive, make sure to select:
Allow anyone to restore from this Brain Archive
This will create a .brz file. You can copy that .brz file to the USB/keydrive and send it to the other person. They can then install TheBrain, import or restore the Brain Archive, and view the Brain on their computer.
So the workflow would be:
• Create the Brain with your headings, thoughts, notes, and linked documents
• Back it up as a .brz Brain Archive
• Select Allow anyone to restore from this Brain Archive
• Copy the .brz file to the USB/keydrive
• Have the recipient install TheBrain and restore/import the archive
Best regards,
John
