Sharing a Brain #98833
https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/98833Hello
Jess,
Thank you for reaching out. Sharing a Brain with your Adult Ed students is a great idea, and the visual, interactive structure can definitely help with engagement.
The simplest way to share a Brain is to publish it online through TheBrain Cloud as a read-only view.
To do that:
- Open your Brain in TheBrain.
- Make sure it is synced to the cloud (Online menu should show it as synced).
- Go to the top menu and click Online.
- Choose Brain Access and Sharing.
- Set the Brain to Public (or configure access the way you prefer).
This will give you a web link that you can share with your students. They can open it in any browser, explore the thoughts, and read the notes without needing their own accounts.
There is also a short video tutorial on sharing here if you’d like a walkthrough:

If you’d prefer your students to have their own local copy instead, you can also create a backup file via File > Backup Brain and send them the .brz file, which they can open in the free version of TheBrain. That option is not live-updating, but it works well if you just want to distribute a static Brain for reference.
Best regards,
John
