Hello Eric,

Thank you for confirming those details, that’s very helpful.

Since TheBrain 15 is not generating an Output.log at all, the next place to look is Windows Event Viewer. This will allow us to see whether Windows or the .NET runtime is blocking the app before it fully launches.

Please follow these steps carefully:

  1. Try to launch TheBrain 15 once more.
  2. If any error message appears, please take a screenshot.
  3. In Windows, search for Event Viewer and open it.
  4. In the left panel, expand Windows Logs, then click Application.
  5. In the right-hand Actions panel, click Filter Current Log…
    • Check the box for Error
    • Click OK
  6. In the filtered list, look for recent entries around the time you attempted to launch TheBrain.
  7. You’re specifically looking for events where the Source is either:
    • Application Error, or
    • .NET Runtime
  8. When you click an event, check the General tab for any mention of TheBrain.exe.
  9. Select the relevant event(s) (you can use Ctrl+Click or Shift+Click to select multiple).
  10. From the Action menu, choose Save Selected Events…
  11. This will create a .evtx file.
  12. Please attach that .evtx file in your reply.

Once we have those Event Viewer entries, we should be able to see whether this is a runtime dependency issue, a security block, or something else preventing the app from starting at all.

Thank you again for your patience, I know this is a bit involved, but this step should give us the clarity we need to move forward.

Best regards,

John
