Thank you for reaching out and for sharing your feedback, that’s a great use case.

TheBrain doesn’t currently have automatic numeric numbering (such as 1.0, 1.1, 1.1.1) in the Outline or Plex views. However, there are a couple of ways to organize thoughts in a similar way:

1. Manual Arrangement:
2. Right-click on any empty space in the Plex and select Arrange Thoughts By > to choose from available sort options (e.g., Name, Creation Date, Modified Date, etc.).
4. Custom Numbering:
5. You can also manually add numeric prefixes to your thoughts, for example, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3. The “0.” prefix becomes invisible in the Plex but still controls the order alphabetically, giving you a clean, numbered sequence.
