Eric Roemer – Corrupt Brain (macOS) #100048
https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/100048
Hello Eric,
Thank you for the details.
Before proceeding, please make sure you have a current backup of your Brains (for example via Time Machine or a Brain Archive), or that your Brains are fully synced to the cloud.
The steps below will reset your local Brain references and data on this Mac, so it’s important your data is safely backed up or synced before continuing.
Please follow these steps:
1. Reset the local index (MetaDB)
• Quit TheBrain completely
• Open Finder
• Click Go > Go to Folder…
• Enter:
~/.TheBrain
• Navigate to: v9/MetaDB
• Locate TheBrainMeta.db
• Rename it to TheBrainMeta.db.old
2. Rename the local Brains folder
• In Finder, go to:
Macintosh HD/Users/[your username]/Brains
• Rename the Brains folder to BrainsOriginal
Then restart TheBrain.
This will start TheBrain with a clean state and remove the reference to the missing or corrupted Brain.
Let me know how it goes.
Best regards,
John
