Scott Lee, Better Customer Reply #100093

https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/100093

Hello Scott,

Thank you for explaining this clearly. I understand why this was concerning, especially since you only intended to use TheBrain Cloud for syncing across your own devices.

Using TheBrain Cloud for sync does not automatically publish your Brain or make it public. A synced Brain remains private unless it is explicitly shared or published through Brain Sharing and Access.

TheBrain Cloud is designed to keep user data secure. Our servers are hosted on Microsoft Azure, and even system administrators cannot access user data without proper credentials. Our service agreement also prohibits access to or use of customer data beyond providing the service. Passwords are salted and hashed, and file attachments and notes are encrypted using AES-256. No third-party vendors have access to your hosted data.

For more information, you can also visit Microsoft’s Trust Center:

https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/overview/trusted-cloud/

To check whether a Brain is private or shared, please open the Brain and review its Brain Sharing and Access settings. If you do not want the Brain accessible to anyone else, make sure it is not published and is not shared with other users.

For TheBrain 15, Copy Local Thought URL is still available on Mac:

• Right click the thought

• Hold Option

• The menu should show Copy Local Thought URL

• Select Copy Local Thought URL

That will copy the local app URL instead of the Web Thought URL.

If you still have the Web Thought URL that appeared accessible without signing in, please send it to us and we can help check whether the Brain had any sharing or public access enabled.

Best regards,

John
