The short answer is that your ChatGPT Plus web subscription and custom persona inside chat.openai.com do not automatically transfer into TheBrain, even if you use your own OpenAI API key.

ChatGPT Plus is a web-based environment. The custom instructions and persona you configured there are applied only within that interface. When using the OpenAI API, those personality and behavioral settings are not included unless they are explicitly sent as part of the system prompt.

In TheBrain, you can:

• Use your own OpenAI API key under Main menu > Settings > AI > General

• Define custom instructions using AI Scripts under Settings > AI > AI Scripts

If you want your persona to behave the same way, you would need to recreate those instructions inside an AI Script or include them in the system prompt configuration used by TheBrain.

So yes, you can use your own API key, but the custom web persona needs to be manually recreated inside TheBrain.
