Hello Cédrik,
Thank you for writing in and for sharing more about how you’d like to integrate TheBrain with your database system. That sounds like a very powerful use case.
The good news is that TheBrain already provides a full REST API with both read and write access. You don’t need to request a separate API key, your existing TheBrain account credentials are used for authentication, and you can immediately begin making requests.

A few notes to keep in mind:
- The API requires an active Pro Combo subscription to use.
- Authentication is handled through your account login (OAuth flow), which provides access to all your synced Brains.
- The API supports creating, editing, and deleting Thoughts, links, and notes, so you can both read and write data.
This should allow you to build the kind of synchronization and workflow automation you described.
